A number of network carriers have been trying out LTE, the latest news is that T-Mobile Austria have also started to jump on the bandwagon as IntoMobile put it. According to TeleGeography, T-Mobile Austria have recently installed and started to run tests on an LTE network.
Huawei have been testing the infrastructure and have so far managed to squeeze 130Mbps out of the cell. T-Mobile are not happy and want to get more, which is why they have gone to the government, in the hope that they will give out the 2.6GHz spectrum.
T-Mobile hopes that by doing this, they will be able to offer LTE on a commercial basis. IntoMobile have asked when the UK is likely to get LTE, after doing an extensive search, all IntoMobile could find on that the UK Government what all people in the UK to have access to at least 2Mbps broadband, which we already know.
